Term 2: Complete ✅
As we reach the end of another fantastic term, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the many achievements and memorable moments that have shaped our students’ learning. From action-packed Sports Days to vibrant celebrations of Chinese New Year and Brunei National Day, this term has been filled with opportunities for growth, teamwork, and joy.
Academically, students have thrived across all areas. In Upper Primary, students explored Shakespeare’s works, with Year 6 bringing Romeo and Juliet to life. Our Science curriculum has continued to inspire curiosity, with students developing scientific understanding through hands-on experiments, practical problem-solving, and meaningful discussions. By applying their knowledge to real-world scenarios, students across Primary have deepened their appreciation of sustainability, the environment, and the role of science in everyday life.
House Challenge Day strengthened our school spirit, and Parent-Teacher Consultations reinforced our valued partnership with families.
Reading has also been a major focus this term. We recognise that becoming a skilled reader requires both strong word recognition and language comprehension. Through rich vocabulary development, structured phonics teaching, and guided reading sessions, we have fostered a love for reading. With Book Week just around the corner in Term 3, we look forward to further celebrating the joy of reading with activities that will inspire a lifelong love of books.
Building resilience has also been a key priority.
At ISB, resilience is more than just a concept, it’s an essential life skill. Our approach focuses on Competence, Confidence, Connection, and Contribution, ensuring that students develop the ability to adapt and succeed. Through a knowledge-rich curriculum, strong relationships, and regular recognition of individual achievements, we equip students with the tools they need to overcome challenges. Parents can see this in action through regular Seesaw updates, showcasing their child’s growth in these crucial areas.
Looking ahead, Term 3 is set to be an exciting and rewarding conclusion to the academic year. Our packed calendar includes celebrations such as the Hari Raya Assemblies and the Year 6 Ceremony, alongside music showcases, swim galas, and a Celebration of Learning event. With so many opportunities still to come, we look forward to embracing all that our final term has to offer.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Your partnership is key to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where our students can truly thrive.
Wishing you a restful break, and we look forward to an inspiring and successful Term 3.
