Selamat Hari Raya
What a wonderful way to end the week with our Hari Raya celebrations today. It is always a joy to come together as a school community to share in local customs and traditions, and today’s event was no exception. A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us for the Assemblies this morning, especially those who unexpectedly found themselves on stage. The students absolutely loved your participation, and it brought such a fun and memorable element to the celebrations.
It was also great to see everyone dressed so beautifully for the occasion; the vibrant colours and stunning traditional outfits created such a special atmosphere. Some of us even had the honour (and challenge) of learning how to dress in traditional attire live on stage. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the staff who worked so hard to lead and support today’s celebrations. Your efforts play a vital role in preserving important traditions and nurturing a strong, respectful school culture. And of course, we hope every child enjoyed their special Hari Raya cookie, it was a small but sweet way to mark this important celebration.
Coming Up 🔜
We have a busy and exciting few weeks ahead. Next week is Eco Week, with a full programme of events coordinated by Mr. Evans and the Green Team. Activities will include wellness-themed art, Eco mini-movies, a Green Quest, and recycling awareness campaign, all culminating in a fun 'Wear Shades of Green' day on Friday 18th April.
The following Friday, 25th April, is our Celebration of Learning morning. We warmly invite all parents (Pre Kindy to Year 6) to join us on campus and take part in classroom learning activities (Pre Kindy and Kindy will be in the pool). This time, the event will open with a special musical performance by our Year 4 students on the Piano Steps, before parents head to classrooms. Year 2 have also planned a special song to close out the event. It promises to be a memorable day and a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into your child’s learning journey.
We’ve also made a small adjustment to Book Week, moving the dress-up day slightly to avoid a clash with the BJSL swimming event. Book Week will be bursting with activities, from author visits and reading challenges to a book hunt, teddy bear picnic, and the ever-popular 'Snuggle Up and Read', all brilliantly led by Ms. Emily.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to host upcoming Music Showcases and Swim Galas (dates listed below). And don’t forget to save the date: Friday 13th June is our Year 6 Ceremony, a significant milestone and a moment to celebrate the journey into Secondary School and beyond. Details will be shared with Year 6 families soon via Seesaw, including a very special top-secret parent task.
For a full list of upcoming events, please refer to the calendar linked below.
If you have any questions about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to message in Seesaw.
