Head of Primary Message Week 28

Eco Week ♻️

This week, our school community embraced Eco Week, a dedicated time to reflect on our responsibility to the planet. The week culminated in today’s ‘Shades of Green’ celebration, where students across the school dressed in green to raise awareness of environmental issues. As part of their efforts, students also helped raise funds to continue our orangutan adoption programme, an inspiring example of student-led action. Sustainability and environmental consciousness are not limited to themed weeks, however. These values are woven throughout our curriculum, with opportunities across subject areas to ensure that even our youngest learners understand the impact, both positive and negative, that individuals can have on the world around them.

The Future is Bright 💡

Today also marked a significant milestone at ISB, as we celebrated the final day of school for our Year 13 IB students, some of whom began their learning journey here in Pre Kindy. We wish them all the very best as they take their next steps towards world-class universities around the globe. And in a beautiful symmetry, we also welcomed a number of new families this morning whose children will soon be joining us in Pre Kindy. It was a joy to have parents of both our most senior students and our very youngest learners in school on the same day. We are also thrilled to share that our Playgroup is popular (in fact oversubscribed) for the term ahead, a fantastic opportunity for families with children under two to begin building relationships with our staff and familiarising themselves with our Early Years environment.

Extra Curricular ✅

A reminder that ECAs begin next week, and that EduLink is now open for parents to check which activities their children are confirmed for. In addition, individual confirmation emails are being sent today from the ECA team. We’re also looking ahead to our Celebration of Learning event on Friday 25th April, an opportunity for parents to step into their children’s classrooms (or poolside in the case of Pre Kindy and Kindy) and join in the learning. Year groups will be sending further details next week, and don’t forget to look out for a complimentary coffee voucher from the canteen to enjoy during your visit.

Poetry Slam 🎙️

We were also treated today to the Year 6 Poetry Slam final in the Theatre, an inspiring showcase of creativity, confidence, and powerful student voice. Congratulations to all of our performers who brought their words to life on stage.

Stay Connected 🤝

As always, open and honest communication remains central to all we do. I am always available, whether at the school gate in the morning, via a message in Seesaw, or simply by dropping into the Primary Office to speak with Ms Riizah who will be able to arrange a suitable time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s ever anything you’d like to ask or share. We’re here to listen and to work in partnership with you.

For a full list of upcoming events, please refer to the calendar linked below.

If you have any questions about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to message in Seesaw.
